Our stall spaces are devoted exclusively to Washington State farmers and small food businesses who sell their own fresh farm produce, organic and pastured meats, poultry and eggs, local seafood, dairy, nursery stock, processed farm products, fresh breads and baked goods, ciders, wines and hard ciders, jams, preserves, fresh flowers, honey, and other locally-produced specialty foods.
No space is given to vendors of arts, crafts, imported or second-hand items, nor to wholesalers or resellers. About 75% of the markets' stall space is given to farmers, and about 25% is allowed for local baked goods and other processed/prepared foods.
Staff and volunteers at the markets' information tables are happy to help shoppers find particular products or farmers at each market.
Click on each market name to see a list of who/what is at the markets this year: Broadway, Columbia City, Lake City, Magnolia, Phinney, U-District, West Seattle.
Farmers or food processors interested in selling at our markets:
Contact the NFMA in early winter to recieve an application for the coming new year. In order for both farmers and farmers markets to plan ahead for a good season, most market spaces are filled by early March, but there are sometimes wait-lists or additions later in the season. When you contact us, please provide us with detailed information about your farm and products so that we may better help you. Note also that we do get dozens of requests each season from food processors who wish to sell at our markets, but our space for these products is very limited, and we are primarily interested in products made from local farm ingredients.
Musicians and other entertainers interested in playing at our markets:
Contact the NFMA and preferably provide us with a sound sample or link. We love all kinds of music, especially upbeat and family friendly. We have several guidelines to keep in mind: music is kept at a low volume so as not to interfere with market conversations and sales (acoustic is preferred, but sometimes a little amplification can be accomodated); performers play for tips only; the markets do not provide any equipment other than a canopy to play under and a scheduled time/date for you to play.
