Non-profit organizations interested in tabling at our markets

We are able to provide a small amount of space for non-profit organizations to do outreach and education at our markets.  We focus on groups that are: educating the public about sustainable farming, agriculture, local food and gardening, directly serving the market communities, and/or providing an engaging and relevant activity for families.  Non-profits cannot do fundraising or selling.  (Examples of groups we have at our markets: Master Gardeners, Seattle Tilth & Master Composters, local food banks who partner with us in gleaning programs, Stewardship Partners/Salmon Safe, SDOT, Seward Park Environmental Center, PCC Farmland Trust, Greater University Chamber of Commerce.)

Our primary purpose is to enable local farmers to sell their farm products to shoppers, to foster positive relationships between local farmers and urban consumers, and to educate consumers about the importance of directly supporting local farms.  Space is extremely tight and we do not have room to accomodate all inquiries.

We do not have room inside the market footprints for signature-gathering, petitioning, leafletting, partisan political groups, political campaigning, etc., nor do we have space for other business promotions or sales.  The NFMA is a private non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization and our markets are private events to which we welcome the public; we screen applicants for space and reserve the right to refuse space to anyone.

If you are interested in scheduling space, please contact us by phone or email to request an application.  When you contact us, please first tell us about your organization and what you want to do at the market.

For information about selling or otherwise ocupying the streets, sidewalks and parks near the markets, please refer to the City of Seattle, SDOT, Seattle Parks Dept., and business/property owners of neighboring spaces for information on rules, laws and regulations.
