Elliot Bay Bookstore at Cap Hill - new cookbooks and author signing!

Elliot Bay Bookstore will be selling cookbooks by local authors (and on themes of preserving and using ingredients found at our farmer’s market). Nancy Singleton Hachisu, author of "Preserving the Japanese Way: Traditions of Salting, Fermenting and Pickling for the Modern Kitchen" and of "Japanese Farm Food" makes a special appearance from 1-2pm to sign her books and share her recipes. We'll also be sharing some free recipe cards, thanks to our friends at Seattle's Sasquatch Press.

U District Farmers Market Recognized as Nation's Best

Condé Nast Traveler names U District Farmers Market in top 9 national round up.

Market Vendor Lists are Annual

Not all of the vendors who appear in our handy-dandy vendor lists will be at the market in a given week. Remember that produce is local and seasonal; some farmers grow different vegetables (or have cheeses or meats) all year 'round - others, such as berry growers, are only at the markets a few weeks or months.
