Eat Local Thanksgiving cooking demo
Take the pledge to eat local for Thanksgiving this year! If you're not hosting, bring a bottle of Washington State wine to your dinner, or make a vegetable dish using local farm products. Whether you're preparing a dish or an entire feast, you can get great ideas from a master chef at the farmers market today. Local harvests feature wonderful heirloom potatoes, big bunches of braising greens, all kinds of winter squashes and pumpkins, Brussles sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, carrots, parsnips, rutabagas, turnips, sweet onions, garlic, radishes, lettuces... Leave the slivered almonds and green beans for folks in southern climates and instead, create a meal that really celebrates our Pacific Northwest farms.
