Ready, Set, Go… COOK! At the University District Farmers Market, August 14

Please join us for Seattle’s own version of IRON CHEF, live at the U-District Farmers Market on Saturday, August 14!  This annual and VERY popular event was actually originally inspired by a British TV show, years before Iron Chef, called..Ready, Set Go, Cook!  The University Distrcit Farmers Market was founded in 1993.

This year's contest pits Chef Zephyr Paquette of Eliot Bay Cafe against Chef Justin Newstrum of Portage Bay Cafe, each challenged to make, on the spot, an original dish using what’s fresh on the farmers’ tables TODAY.  Additionally, the chefs must source their accompanying ingredients from the nearby University District Food Bank, from whatever is on the shelves that morning!  Come early to get a seat and watch our two contestants race the clock and go head to head to create the most innovative, delicious, beautifully presented dishes.

This event is also a celebration of National Farmers Market Week, which takes place each year in August.
