Chef Ludger was born and raised near Dusseldorf, trained in Germany with Hilton Hotels, continuing on to Montreal and Puerto Rico. Ludger Szmania and his wife and business partner, Julie, opened Szmania’s in Seattle in September of 1990. Their seasonally changing menu offers a mix of European, Northwest, and pan-Asian cuisines with artful presentation.

Chef Ludger Szmania’s August 21 cooking demo is sure to appeal to all crowds.  Combining local, seasonal ingredients with cooking styles from his native Germany as well as his other international cooking experience, Chef Ludger will teach shoppers how to use fresh ingredients to make easy and delicious meals at home.
