Chef Julie Andres of La Medusa Restaurant cooks at Columbia City, June 30

Julie Andres, Chef and owner of La Medusa Restaurant in Columbia City, is passionate about supporting local farms and farmers markets.  Her restaurant features succulent Sicilian-inspired dishes, using local organic ingredients and the finest quality imports from Sicily. Menus change often to reflect seasonality in the Northwest and the Sicilian tradition.

On Wednesday, June 30, Chef Julie will demonstrate some of her delicious secrets to making very, very good food using fresh market ingredients.  The demo is free to the public and offers a unique opportunity to watch Chef Julie in person.  Recipes will be provided, and also posted on this website's Recipes pages.

La Medusa's Wednesday Farmers Market meals are offered May through October, and every Wednesday you can find Chef Julie shopping the market for fresh ingredients and cooking it up shortly after at the restaurant - presenting simple and flavorful dishes, in ways that emphasize the very best that each ingredient has to offer.  She says: "Not only is eating locally good for our planet (in our case the distance from market to table is only half a block!), but it's good for our bodies and souls as well."
