Our Organization

The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance (NFMA) is a community-based organization developed in response to the growing popularity and public support of the neighborhood Farmers Markets in Seattle. NFMA's mission is to support Washington’s small farms and farming families by providing effective direct sales sites for our region’s small farmers, and by educating consumers about farm products and the benefits of buying direct from local farmers.

The NFMA is a non-profit 501 ( c ) 3 corporation registered with the State of Washington and the federal government. A board of eleven directors governs the NFMA; four of these members are farmers who sell at the Markets. Other board members represent Seattle neighborhoods where the Markets take place, and citywide representatives who support the goals of the NFMA. The NFMA also has an annual vendor steering committee meeting that includes the Market coordinators and vendors. All vendors who participated in the Markets the previous season are invited to this annual meeting.

Full time staff includes:

Director: Chris Curtis
