Learn more about the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance
The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance (NFMA) is a community-based, non-profit organization which operates seven farmer/food only markets in Seattle neighborhoods. The NFMA's mission is to support and strengthen Washington’s small farms and farming families. We do this by providing effective direct sales sites for our region’s small farmers, and by educating consumers about local farm products and the importance of supporting and preserving local farmland.
The NFMA is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with the State of Washington and the federal government. A board of twelve directors governs the NFMA; four of these members are market farmers. Other board members represent Seattle neighborhoods where the Markets take place, or are citywide representatives who support the goals of the NFMA.
The NFMA also has an annual vendor steering committee meeting that includes the NFMA staff and all current market vendors. Vendor board members are elected by vendors each year at the annual meeting.
Year-round staff includes:
Director: Chris Curtis
Operations Manager: Julian O'Reilley

Bookkeeping: Lee Campbell
The NFMA also employs on-site assistants and Market security.
